St. Agnes, Virgin and Martyr Feast Day January 21, Patroness of Chastity, Betrothed Couples, Children of Mary

St. Agnes suffered martyrdom around the age of twelve or thirteen years of age. She was born around 291 A.D. She was a martyr for purity. She is often depicted holding a lamb. Her name “Agnes” means “lamb”(agnus) in Latin.
