St. Rose was the first saint from the Americas to be canonized. She is the patroness of Latin America, the Philippines, florists, and gardeners.
She once stayed with a family that witnessed and kept a diary of the many miracles of the Saint. One incident involved a little bird that arrived every evening and would sing with Rose. The Saint would play her guitar and they both sang a song of praise to God. When the song was done, Rose would send the little bird on its way. Her Feast Day is August 23.
